We have another new feature.. You can add a background to your profile, hasten to add that it's not easy to get something that matches with the theme. I'm still tinkering with it after about half an hour but if you like a good tinker then
You may need to look for 'transparent backgrounds' and even then it's tough to match it with the theme. I for one like a good challenge though lol

 I got hold of that image applied transparency to it, then have no image repeat on it. And it snugly fits into the top left corner as you can see |

Tried having a go with the user post gallery plugin last night, had it installed for ages and it's a bit pants to be honest. I thought it would be nice if people could create picture and video galleries as we had on NLL. So the search continues on that front. Trying to make it as easy/convenient as I can for people to do stuff without having to use the wordpress dashboard, that isn't really the easiest thing in the world

So had 3 plugin updates today, one of which was buddypress in fact. User submitted posts is another and the image compressor I have as well.. Anyway I thought OK then lets update but I had a sneaky feeling it wouldn't go well and I was proven right lol. Didn't like it one bit, had errors on the home page to do with the user gallery plugin which seems then to be somewhat embedded. Even though I wanna get rid and don't like it to much. Buddypress plugins I had installed were not working as they should (one of them was at least) Always update they say.. Themes, wordpress itself and any plugins you have but then it fucks yer site up so no I frigging won't lol.. They expect you to get rid of all the plugins that this update ain't compatible with, which is gonna be a lot of em.. On updrafts page it says Update Compatibility You’ve been following our advice and keeping everything up-to-date. But what’s this- your site’s broken? What’s gone wrong now? Though it’s always good to update to the latest version of WordPress, you should also check (preferably before you update) that all of your plugins are compatible with it. Weird and wonderful errors can happen when they’re not. So update your plugins, delete the ones that have been abandoned by their creators, and your transition to the most recent WordPress should go without a hitch. Yes but some of these plugins mate are still fairly new in fact the frigging user gallery is 3 weeks old lol.. Are we expected to go through every bleeding plugin each time there's an update just to make sure there isn't some kind of compatibility issue. Which anyway will be impossible to determine in some cases They don't half make excuses for things that could lead to your site going wrong through no fault of your own. Tongue firmly in cheek rant over.  |

I've been the very thing Aly said I was "dumb" last few weeks. Spent a lot of time trying to come up with ideas how to do things when I already had the tools at my disposal.. NLL had a Photography and Arts section yes? well crazy chums does now courtesy of a group. NLL had a blog section, well that was there anyway lol as it's wordpress. And you can now even write a blog post within your profile pages. Can add pictures and music whatever there too just to add. The Story and Poem section is about to go live within the hour, there are forums for each group not that people have noticed. A video wall type thing would be nice, hmm. Gotta a plugin to display a page of youtube vids not sure about a nice way to do it for users yet
Am I missing anything that NLL use to have.. Feel like I am

Probs finish up the new home page today but I won't have it as the home page just yet, so people can have a look first.. And I've never used a html page within a wordpress site, want to see if it actually works properly. It's tough to do because working from a template you gotta fill in the blanks that make up each section and it means yer winging it in certain parts of it.
Has a testimonial section for example, and what in the world do I put there?.

OK so I ain't finished the home page, IBS is seeing to that... But I was just on my profile, went to media then albums and I've got one called "family pics of dorset". I downloaded some of me Dads from about 10 years ago then drag and dropped them onto the album page. They uploaded into said album and then I thought, yep that's pretty damn cool... If only people knew lol

Sorry to have to say this but having now started to get use to me own site lol and buddypress with the addition of plugins... You know what I'm gonna say  The messaging system pees all over NLL, the groups thing is cool.. Being able to message more than one person at once privately is blooming marvellous. Being then able in those private messages to send pics, music and files, even videos in m4a format is a juicy bonus. With more smileys than you can shake a stick at It's actually got options I've not seen on FB either, being able to message more than one person privately though I suspect you can do that on FB I've never done it or seen it.. You can add comments to pics, vids and all the rest the same as FB. You can like things, favourite them which are then stored in your favourites which you access on your profile. It's better than NLL under the hood only a decent server holds it back Yes it's not the prettiest but then neither is Twitter and FB. When I was chatting to Sway about a week back said it's how it functions that is more important than how it looks |

I've decided to make my own video.. Had a light bulb moment, I've been using free to use pics for the site in the main there's also free to use videos and they're blooming high quality in fact. What about I write something about mental health and making friends and a few of us say some lines for it?. I know everyone will say no but thought I'd ask anyway
And yes I have been blooming slow doing the site last week or so, I'm in the quiet zone at the mo.

So I made a video but I wanna do like mental health facts on it, just dunno how to make it look good, what would look good on it. And the music, oh the music isn't going to meet peoples approval either because I thought. Nope don't wanna do this typical plinkety plonk piano piece that suppose to make people feel all sad and thoughtful and the like. Instead it's plinkety plonkety ambient with a little bit of plinkety plonkity piano and plonky violins.. I must join music As heard on Mind's videos... |

I'd love to have a pop at these people you know, I've had enough of the sheer cynicism involved in things like this.. The insincerity, their attempts to pull at peoples heart strings and for what? where is the honesty the heart felt honesty in all of this.  |
