Just saw this pop up while on Youtube and every time I think of Kate Bush my overriding thoughts are how so many have copied her style. And it is her they've copied isn't it? there is no doubt. Have they attempted and failed to be the new Kate Bush, was she just something utterly unique and the likes of which will never see again?. She so obviously would have been this huge mega star if she wasn't such a recluse. Instead she is somewhat of a cult phenomenon much like Lana Del Rey, who I like btw.. Amy Winehouse there was another go at being the new her, and again she is a huge talent but Kate had an aura about her that was unmatched despite her reluctance to be in the limelight. My broth fancied her big style as well lol
The old, well middle aged man in me can't help think the original and best... Maybe it's because the era demanded a little more, you had to have something a little different about you to stand out from the crowd than you do now?. Joanna Newsom again is similar as is Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes) still not quite the same
