How to offend old time gamers that know, appreciate and enjoy the roots of gaming in general... Lesson 1: dissing an older game that was truly groundbreaking back in the day that people loved dearly. A game that helped to fashion the industry as we see it today... Lesson 2: comparing it's remake to a triple A title with a multi multi million pound budget while neglecting to make mention of these said roots.. Read the comments to find out what people think of this review with that said.

I've been playing games of late, you might see them one day at a site near you or not as the case will likely be lol. And I have to say I've been thoroughly enjoying it. Was actually a mite sceptical at first about it all myself even though I'm a retro gamer anyhoo. I'll finish it all up once I've done the home page, so you can see what I've been playing. Well I canni reveal all now can I, well I did a couple elsewhere

Most disturbing video game ever? Sickening abuse scene shows violent dad beat daughter, 10, to deathwww.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/most-disturbing-video-game-ever-11631932Did you see this story in the Mirror? forgot to mention it.. Quantic can do no wrong for me since I played Fahrenheit and this game looks the shit too.. Sorry Mirror newspaper lol It's more sensationalist BS ain't it?. As someone said in the comments video games are an easy target these days as the age of video nasties is long gone.

Words not needed Well OK, it's Tetris innit.. My brother became an addict, said he closed his eyes and those shapes would appear - he'd dream of Tetris.. Thing is with my broth he wasn't much of a gamer but when he was, wow he was dedicated to the cause. He famously played Revenge of The Mutant Camels to destruction or completion if you will.. You probs not played it, it's a pretty bloody good feat I tell yer i.imgur.com/fdgZVSD.pngi.imgur.com/5ZWLBnd.jpg

Star Wars Battlefront 2Not returned to the multi yet, but single player was a snoozefeet. The space battles were especially boring as fuck. 5/10

Agents Of MayhemSaints Row 5 meets Crackdown in all but name, minus the fun or variety. Sandbox is on the small side with little to see or do. Go here, go there, shoot stuff. Very little to break up the monotony. 5/10

Nex MachinaTop down, Twin Stick arcade shooter, part Defender (save humans), part Smash TV (kill everything else that moves), Relatively decent bite sized action. 7/10

Sniper Elite 4Grabbed it in the sales, thank god for the co-op, otherwise I'd have died from the sheer boredom. I'm more of a run and gun man myself, whereas most of the randomers I played with thought they were professional snipers, shooting away off in the distance, while I'm running about getting up close and personal, alerting enemies, setting off alarms. 6/10

Call Of Duty WW2Back to the trenches, and the world war 2 setting. Surprisingly more than just a nazi shooting gallery, with some espionage and rescue missions shaking up the tried and trusted formula. Zombies mode is majorly disappointing however. 8/10

Evil Within 2Wasn't a massive fan of the first game so my hopes were kept in check for the sequel. But it's suitably twisted and full of weird characters. Exploring the town, and talking to it's creepy inhabitants kept me engaged. Silent Hill comparisons aren't too far off the mark. 9/10

It says that it's not in the DSM-5. Maybe it'll be in the next edition, who knows. It would be hard to diagnose most people in our situation with it though I reckon. Take yourself for example PV, it's not like your gaming interferes with your job or looking after your children.

I've an inherent need to consume every videogame, movie and album that exists. Maybe they should expand it to include all forms of popular media?

Star Wars Battlefront 2Not returned to the multi yet, but single player was a snoozefeet. The space battles were especially boring as fuck. 5/10 One did read that the story revealed Rey's parents.. That was the theory anyway but alas no it doesn't and that is all I'm gonna say I know all the Star Wars spoilers have to talk those once people have seen it but lets just say there are a lot of hardcore Star Wars fans extremely pissed off.. Anyhoo I still remember playing the original Star Wars Battlefront, I thought it was ace but at the same time a little bit meh too. If it wasn't for the fact it was Star Wars and looked bloody nice at the time I'd not be overly impressed.. I can't put me finger on why... Have to think about that, all I can say is it were no Battlefield, maybe a dumbed down Battlefield.
