I've voted for you not to give it up. I think that Jim does need to charge for NLL to cover his costs (his main cost being Casey the programmer's time I would assume), and I do expect the price to go up over time due to inflation. But where did that leap from $25 to $40 come from? Also now that NLL is concentrating on dating and not so much on being a social network, I think that there should be a site which is mainly focussed on being a social network. As Crazy Chums is.

So I voted for the 'He needs to be stopped option' but I wouldn't put it that strongly myself. But as I said above the jump from $25 to $40 is too much, unless we suddenly see some massively high-profile advertising campaign for NLL. (Which seems unlikely.)

Well I'm surprised by that lol, already know PV's take on it as well as I had another poll up before this one but I buggered it up a bit.. He chose we're stubborn option lol but was tempted by the top one too. Which he'll probably do now but will he? maybe not now I've said that, aha but will he now do it because I said he wouldn't do it having said he would lol...

Jim should ditch Casey, and hand Vectorman the role. I daresay vector would do a miles better job as shown by his proof of concept crazy chums site, and for no fee. Lol

The old NLL forum was crying out for holiday themes like we have now. Takes no time, and would have lightened everybodys mood.

Feels like one last ditch attempt to generate money from the site. But the caveat is, basic members have no means to message premium members, so what's the point in anybody paying for premium, only to be ignored? Jim should have had helpers dealing with all aspects of the site.. The forums, blogs, artwork sections, should have been improved upon, not taken away.

Lol Thanks for the vote of confidence but I ain't no programmer, I do my utmost to avoid any coding if I can help it lol. No I'd dare say we'd do a miles better job just by communicating with each other, as we have done. Even with Ivy and her scathing assessment lol. Though yeah I suppose I've got a fair idea of what to do just not the tools or the skills really to pull it off hahaha. Not without a shitload of money anyway

This is deffo the old model before it's even finished though, I know that already. I just hope people will stick with it, despite the sites many quirks and not so great responsiveness, which pees me off too.. For the reason that if we come together as one and see it as an ongoing project that will end up being the FB for the mentally ill then yeah, would be cool. It's gonna take frigging years I think, especially as I'm one of the shyest people in the world.. Not very good or confident about putting myself out there

Here here but even then with the forum the shit hit the fan didn't it.. We had mods once, I wonder if he was frightened of handing over the duties for certain parts of the site because it would reveal a little to much of something or other, I dunno Think the bottom line is, he couldn't maybe or thought he couldn't as it didn't have some nice and easy GUI to do the job.. Tis weird

Tis weird There was only one mod at a time for the forum though and I think that it was too little too late. The drama had become pretty well established there by that point. It's much better here where we've got 3 mods and no drama has even started. It's true that there aren't as many regulars so far, but when we hopefully gain in numbers, having mods here should stop drama really developing.

Yes it's been staggering how little drama there's been.. Think that comes down to the fact it's us and only us though hahahahaha as you point out.

Maybe you should add an option or two to this poll about your idea of creating a dating site. Maybe one option could be a dating site as well as Crazy Chums, and another option could be one instead of Crazy Chums.

Not sure the dating site is possible as there's little in the way of affordable options.. But then again, sure I saw one that was and someone said it was good even
The site has actually been working better this weekend for some reason, not sure why.. Maybe because no ones on it lol - I've just been tinkering with the header section, stuck on what to do with it

Maybe because no ones on it lol - I've just been tinkering with the header section, stuck on what to do with it I've been thinking that perhaps the best option might be to keep the Crazy Chums name, address, and idea, but to make it with dating site software, but still focussing on friendship though. The good thing about dating sites is their type of profiles and their accompanying search feature (searching by gender, country, age range, etc.).
